Know the Fireplace Before Choosing the Work

For an Arlington Heights appointment, tell Prime Choice whether you have a masonry fireplace, an insert, gas logs, or a factory-built system. The design affects inspection access, cleaning, and replacement parts. If you recently moved in, share any inspection findings and available appliance information.

Don Johnson and the team offer chimney sweeping with a visual inspection for $169.99 + tax, inspection-only service for $129.99 + tax, and dryer vent cleaning for $149.99 + tax. Repair scope and pricing are discussed after the concern is assessed.

Chimney cleaning with gas logs: $199.00 + 8.25% tax. Tell Prime Choice that gas logs are present so the correct cleaning service is discussed. Confirm the scope and applicable tax when booking.

Loose fireplace masonry, smoke entering the room, and water stains deserve a separate discussion from routine sweeping. Stop using a fireplace that spills smoke or shows concerning damage, and explain the symptoms when requesting a visit.

Arlington Heights Fireplace Questions

Can an older masonry fireplace be swept like a newer system?

Cleaning depends on the actual system and its condition. Share any past repairs or modifications; age alone does not establish safe use or determine the needed work.

Should cracked factory-built fireplace panels be patched with ordinary mortar?

No. The appliance instructions and compatible replacement parts matter. Ask for an assessment before using a fireplace with damaged refractory panels.

Does a gas-log fireplace still need chimney attention?

Yes. Venting, obstructions, and chimney condition still matter. Give the appliance and fuel details when booking so the appropriate work can be discussed.

Can you quote repairs from a picture?

A photo can help describe the issue, but concealed damage, access, and material compatibility may require an on-site assessment before a repair proposal.
