Correct dimensions and suitable openings are important for a cover that fits the chimney enclosure.

The Chase Cover Protects the Enclosure Top

A chase cover is a metal cover over the top of a framed chimney enclosure. It surrounds the vent or chimney penetrations and is different from the cap at the flue opening or the crown on a masonry chimney.

Rust, deteriorating material, poor fit, or water collecting on the cover can warrant evaluation. A cover replacement should be based on the enclosure, penetrations, and condition of the existing installation.

Plan a Cover That Fits

The dimensions, openings, edge details, proposed material, and installation requirements guide fabrication. Access and any damage around the enclosure also affect the work and estimate.

Tell Prime Choice about water entry, rust stains, or visible cover damage. Ask what the cover service includes and whether the enclosure or another component needs separate repair. A new cover is not a substitute for assessing damage below it.
